Trailer Turn signal Problem
I have a right turn signal problem. I bought a new trailer last week. The lights and turn signals worked fine when I brought it home. I have been pulling a utility trailer for about 3 months with no problem. The turn signals work fine on my 2000 Durango but the right signal at the 4 prong hitch plug is not working. I took a test light and with the truck running I checked the right and left turn signals. All the signals on the truck are working but the left side at the plug flashes but the right is dead. At the rear of the trailer I get a very slight impression of a right flash. I DO NOT have the tow package so the only thing I could think of is maybe a heavier flasher but why would it only be the right trailer turn signal not working and not the vehicle right turn signal as well. Any ideas? Is the right trailer light on its own fuse?
No they are all on the same fuse. Should be under the hood driver’s side. But first did you get the tow package installed from the dealer????
Second, get in the truck and find something or someone to hold the brake down and test the output voltage at the plug. If it's good then I would suggest a stronger flasher.

The tow package was not a dealer install. It was professionally done. I found that the voltage is going from the tail light to a box mounted under the bumper. The 4 wire flat plug comes directly out of this box. I have a green coming in with a charge and a green coming out without a charge. I cut the wire going in and bypassed the box and hooked to the wire going to the flat plug and the light is now working. I believe this box is suppose to protect the electrical wiring of the durango. Is this box worth replacing or should I leave it as is.
Sounds like a classic crapy install. Most likely there is a fuse link inside and this is also used as a junction box.
I would leave it as is because it is already fused but I would fix the problem As soon as ya can.
