Tire pressure is a problem that nobody really looks at. People seem to think they take their tucks into the tire shop and the employee's will take care of it......... LOL

Every time I take my rig in it's never done right! I can take it in with 37 in the front and 36 in the rear and tell the manager I'm **** about my pressure and ensure that they will be right. I get it home and check the lugs and pressure and everytime it's screwed up.......... Like I've had pressures anywhere from 52psi to 12psi and loose lugs come off on the freeway that those guys forgot to torque. Then again torquing old lug nuts in reality can't be done......LOL

I can't figure out what the **** they do with my tires?????? I hate people working on my truck!

We had some other info I though we should share in this thread........ https://dodgeforum.com/forum/1st-gen...ph-and-up.html

General Grabber HTS 265/70/16 with 35psi front & 41 psi rear (new 6000km ago). I always had it at 34psi all-around with the OEM tires but with this new set the tire shop put them to what was listed on the sticker at the side of the driver's door. I've been meaning to test the new set out at 35 all-around after my first tire rotation (which was yesterday) since all I ever tow are a group of 6-7 drunken guys on weekend nights

Any thoughts on psi?

UPDATE: Just set fronts to 37 and rears to 36. Will see how that goes.

I run 40PSI all the way around on both sets of rubber... the winter Michelins and the summer Falkens.

I have Uniroyal Laredo 265/70/R16 and have at about 33 or 34 PSI all the way around. Is that ok? I've found if it's much higher it makes for a rougher ride on the highway. I don't do any towing.

I just put the same size on my '98 Durango. I chose General Grabber beacuse of the better tread wear rating and load capacity. All that said. the tire permits up to 44 psi. I keep mine at 37psi for everyday driving and increase the rear to 42 psi while towing. If I am towing with a loaded TV I increase the front to 40 psi. I know that Dodge recommends 35 psi, but this is a larger tire than oem. It works great for me.

Two thoughts about tire pressure. #1 NEVER trust that the tire shop will inflate your tires correctly. All they want to do is get air in them and get you out of there. I've found 4 different pressures when I checked it afterwards. Get it home, let the tires cool down and then set the psi where you want it. #2 NEVER let the ying-yangs at the lube shop 'check' you tire pressure. They will set it as if your tires were cold. This, of course, will end up with pressure far too low after the tires cool down. Like the saying goes - "If you want something done right do it yourself". I hate it when anyone else touches my D anyway.
