the alarm functions entirely.

If you want to use the alarm again all you do is remove the spliced wire
un hook your battery let it sit over night and hook it back up

This info comes from three different alarm system installers in killeen, Tx
Not sure how you know that, but it worked for me and my 99 Durango. May you have a great year..

I did just that with my 99 Durango and the security light still flashes, and is somehow connected with the engine light, because sure as heck when you turn off the ignition and the security light flashes and charm dings in an off beat timing, the next time the engine is started the engine light is on again til I disconnect battery and go through the same process again, on the first or second ignition off cycle. Im 62 years old and nothing but mechanic all my life so throw it at me and I'll give it a go. I can't figure it out! Frustrating, and I can't drive with an engine light on. It's against everything I've lived for.
