check engine light being funny?
. . . or am i just paranoid???
here is the deal, when i was sitting at the gas station waiting for my fill up(in NJ so its no legal to do it myself
) and looked at mydash when i turned the key on to check the mileage on this tank, i noticed the check engine light came on for the self check, then went out, and blinked on and off about 6 times (give or take, i didnt count sorry) and then went back to solid,
i never noticed this before so does anybody elses truck do this, or does anybody know what it means???

Could be just a soft code and not a hard one that triggered the flash. The soft code could have happened because the engine wasn't started and a sensor wasn't firing.
But this brings up a question? Did you do the trick think to read the PCM or did you just turn the key to run?

all i did was turn the key to run so that i could get odometer and trip meter readouts,
although i did put a scanner on it today and it cam back with 0 codes, i also counted the flashes today and counted 10 of them, and i have tried the keydance trick too, and it came up w/ pdone only so no codes that way either i really never noticed this before and its bothering me more than a little
