Thumbs up electrical issue solved kinda...

If you check my thread about my electric issue you'll see whats up. Thanks to Mean Green for his time and trouble, read his post about diagnostics trust me.

Okay I tested the 9 wire plug from the top right of the climate control for resistance the red with the green strip is the 12v hot in the run position the other 8 wires were anyplace from 40. to 9.74 except one a solid orange right next to the red/grn it read 0.03 I know this is crude but I cut it. Snapped the plug onto the head started the truck no blown fuse all items working perfect.

Now this is the weird part my haynes manual does not show the solid orange wire in this plug. There is an orange wire on the diagram that goes to interior lights but they worked with the plug out and still work with the wire cut. I have the factory Dodge manual on the way and the diagnostic manual as well so I figure I'm good till they get here and will find it then.

Oh yea Wife is VERY HAPPY she has her D back.

One issue you will find with wiring and schematics for ALL vehicles is that they will change wire colors on you in the middle of a production year. That solid orange wire may very well be labeled blue in your manual.

Where did your short end up being?
