Just bought a 2005 Durango SLT. Was wondering if anyone knows how to turn off the horn honk on lock feature.

I had to have the dealer turn it off with the computer - it took about 10 seconds.

 

As he said, bring it to the dealer.

HORN CHIRP DISABLING/ENABLING
The horn chirp can be toggled using a scan tool or by using the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter.

To DISABLE (cancel) the horn chirp feature: With the ignition in the ON position, press and hold the transmitter LOCK button for four seconds. While pressing the LOCK button in, press the PANIC button within 6 seconds. Release both buttons when a single chime is heard.

To ENABLE the horn chirp feature, repeat the above procedure

 

I just got my '02 yesterday and that is the thing that most irritates me. I'll have to give this a try tomorrow morning. Good deal...owned it less than 24hrs and already fixing stuff...

 

I don't mind the horn chirp. Let's me know that it is locked and armed. But I would like to use lights instead of the horn. One light flash for On, and two light flashes for off.
