Well after looking at the diagram I have it looks to be the CTM that is your problem. I personally would stop using the fog lights or turn them off manually if you want to use the high beams. CTM's aren't cheap and it isn't a fix you can do yourself. Search "CTM" on the forums here to learn more about them. It may start doing other stuff like locking and unlocking doors and turning lights off and on at that point it is absolutely necessary to replace.

High beams wont work whether the fogs are on or not. It just when I do turn on the fogs(with NO highbeams), the high beam indicator is lit at half brightness.

What is the CTM? What does it stand for? I recently replaced the computer control module about3 months ago. Brand new from the dealer.

The Durango would just die in the middle of the road, and then within 5 minutes, it would let you start it back up again. Changed crankshaft sensors and a bunch of other stuff before we figured that one out.

I may just have to go back to the dealer for this one..

Thanks for your help guys

Frank, I am sure the computer control module and the CTM (Cental Timing Module) that Meangreen referred to may be the same device.

Ok I think I finally got ya. I sill think it may have something to do with the CTM (central timing module). If the high beam indicator was not coming on I would be thinking multifunction switch but the only link that everything has here is the CTM. Take a look at the electrical diagnosis and testing sticky at the top of the forum and test for voltage on the high beam circuit from the multifunction switch. I only have an 02' manual available with wiring schematics and it shows as red with an orange tracer. That may not be accurate as you have a 00' model. If you get any votage out of it when you try to switch on the high beams then it is definitely your CTM. It also should not have any voltage when switched to low beams.

Thank you, that is a great place to start. Also I noticed something I hadn't noticed before.....

The actual switch and surrounding pod does not light up. All other gauges
light up fine. When I pull the switch for fogs, I do get the indicator for that only though.......

Not sure if this info raises any red flags or not.

Thanks for the help, Frank

I'll take a look at it later on. I downloaded my manual to my phone but unfortunately I cannot tap the links on the index page so I have to go from page to page. I figure maybe if I'm in a real bind it will help but otherwise it isn't happening.

Well I went ahead and looked after all. It wasn't too bad to find the spot on my PDF.

I don't believe that the lighting on the **** has anything to do with your issue and in fact I don't even remember ky **** lighting up at all.

Well, just to put this thread to an end....the fix, your not going to believe this, is.... NEW BULBS.

Maybe the high beam bulb was out, and the half dim indicator was saying, "Hello......Change the bulbs!" LOL
