hey guys. i just bought a '02 5.9 R/T two days ago. there are no lights on the 4wd switch. how do i know its working? i tried AWD and 4Hi in light snow yesterday and it was fishtailing. i was expecting it to be nice in the snow but i'm disappointed. what could be wrong?

 

if the lights on the switch are not working then the 4 wheel drive isnt working, it might be as simple as a loose connection between the switch and the shifting motor, it could be a bad motor on it, it could also be a bad computer controller(i cant remember what it is called) if you dont have the repair manual for the truck i have it as a pdf i can upload for you if you want it, just let me know.

 

I have a 99 Durango and my 4 wheel P/T light only works sometimes. I know I am in 4 wheel drive just by trying to turn and feel the tires grabbing.
