I didn't know the was 2 different ones. Thats one reason that I dislike Kragen's. Every time I go there I get the wrong part. I think their part systems are crap.

I prefer Auto Zone or the dealer for parts.

Well its been 3 weeks now and no problems at all. I'd say that was definitely the problem.

Default P0340 5.9 engine

I have similar problem. Engine does not stall but when at full running temp engine intermittently will not restart when shut off. At this time is when I get the code. The problem is happening more and more frequently. I have a ODBII tester and clearing code rarely helps it start. I have also noticed that It tries to fire for a second just as key is turned, then it seen turnover without resistance. It always starts after full cool down with or without code cleared.

I am going to try distributor pickup (Sensor) as first try.

I have question about the variant tolerance in PCM for cam to crack position. My vehicle has 190K + miles and expect that slop in timing chain could push variant past tolerance for PCM. This may explain why it always starts in the PCM's close loop mode.

I had the same problem, turned out to be the crank sensor between the firewall and bell housing. When it got hot an internal wire in the sensor must have lost continuity due to the expansion after heating up, replaced it and things were back to normal.

Default Different sensor connections

So I recently put a motor from an automatic into my 98 1500 with manual transmission. During the swap I noticed almost all the sensor connections were different between the two harnesses. Why dodge decided to make them different between the manual and auto is beyond me. I ran into the same issue with the cam position sensor. The black one is for and auto and the grey one is for the manual
