Default 1999 DURANGO TROUBLE STARTING

When I try to start my 1999 Durango it will start up. However, if i take my foot off the gas then it dies almost imediatly. Neither the dealership, nor my mechanic could find anything wrong with the vehicle. I have replaced my IAC, and had my fuel system cleaned out. Does anyone know what to do?

Have you tested your alternator?

Had the same problem with my '99 Dakota 3.9L V6. No one ever found anything wrong with it, not the dealer or a trusted mechanic friend of mine. Sold the vehicle without ever figuring out the cause.

I'd go with the battery too. It can definetly cause this problem. After having the batt. cables disconnected, it may take it a minute to relearn how to idle.

I agree, problaby battery. My battery had a dead cell and still starts the durango but it does not run right. When the battery finally went bad I replaced it, and now the durango runs fine with no more wierd symptoms.
