Usually the kit works with the components already on the truck...Did they get you the right one......and what kit did you purchase?

well im thinkin bought buying one for the year, make and model but it works for all engine sizes but the 4.7(so they say). my manager bought the same one for his v6 dodge dakota and said he bought a engine hat to fit his engine and the cold air system.

Sounds like it would of been easier just to follow the forced air intake (home made) instructions here on the forum, then dropped in a K&N filter.
