I totally agree...........

 

Again, the brakes will not lock up after applying them only once at low speed against the engine. That' life - it happens to most of them.

 

I'd sit right there make sure you don't see any air bubbles coming out of the line when they bleed the brakes

 

I'll tell you this:

If you think it's just the pad to surface get that truck up on the freeway doing about 80 and push the E-brake in on an off ramp to slow you down. This will force the pad to surface of the drum and burn it in.

Be careful!

Because I don't drive my rig very much some times I'll get pitting from weather moisture that can lock up the front and this is how I get it burned off. You don't want to do it too much because it can glaze the pads.

 

While on this subject, and this is not for me but what about the possibility of swapping a 03 rear axle to earlier models, to get disc brakes?

WOW... I do wish I was a guy at this point. I am going to take it back. It hasn't happened since, but my safety is important. Also are the drums suppose to look so rusty?

 

Yes the drums from the outside are supposed to look dirty. It's thin inside on the contact points that should be clear.
