Default Having problems with stock and after market viper alarm

just bought my 2000 durango and it has a viper remote start and alarm. some how both the stock one and the viper alarms are still working.
if i dont arm the system but lock the doors and close them and open the door the factory alarm goes off, horn and lights.

the viper alarm when armed goes off, has a siren but no lights and no horn. plus theres no confermation if the truck starts unless you hear it fire up.

my biggest problem is the remote will unlock the doors but not lock them. any one deal with alarms that might know where the wires connect to the truck so i can see if some thing came loose? under the dash is a complete mess of wires.

Hes right. They are suppose to disable the factory alarm. As for the lights not flashing when the truck is running, its an option. Also, there may be a wire loose OR someone didnt know how to hook it up right, thats why the lock/unlock doesnt work. Take it to a place that installs VIPER stuff so its done right. Its very easy to install something Wrong that can cause bigger issues or a FIRE!

You have to bring it to a dodge dealer to get the factory alarm disabled...

It taked about grounding a wire from the CTM......... I don't approve of that method.

Heres the link DRO318:
Alarm system disconnect

If you advance search under "disable alarm" in the 1st durango section you will find more info. Advanced Search
