module
question guys,
i have a 2000 durango slt 5.9liter.
the brakes were screwy you would push down on them and it would start to brake then slip then grab again!!!
then the pedal would pulsate and click. so i took it down to the dealership
and they got it to do it for them hooked up there computer to it and said there were 1000 different codes on the computer so they cleared it out and said that the module would probally have to be replaced. they said it would be 500 for the module just for the part!!!!so my question is if replaceing this will there be more problems to come after???
they also said to replace all four tires.

It is possible that the ABS module failed. $500 installed isn't a bad deal assuming it is the 4 wheel ABS module.
You could get a refurb or even new for $150 on eBay, take 3 hours to install and bleed the system and STILL not have good operating brakes. The ABS module has a internal component that needs cycled/purged via the dealers commands using their computers. You can't cycle it on your own. You can do everything else, but with the air still in the system starting from the controller itself, you won't be happy.
Unfortunately, this too is one of those dealer only repairs.
Disclaimer: Not certain if the 2 wheel ABS has the same internal purge cycle required.
YMMV
