Blinkers don't work!
On a 2000 Durango, over the last few weeks, the directionals have been going out. At first, when I hit the blinker, it works for a couple of flashes, then stops. Now, when I turn on the blinker, nothing happens. Wierd thing is that the hazards still work. What could it be? Bad flasher?

I should also point out that these symptons first started appearing a couple of months ago when I had a mechanic replace the heater core (i.e. he pulled the entire dash). But, this has been a progressive problem to where now the blinker doesn't work at all. So I'm wondering whether pulling of the dash had anything to do with this problem - or is it just a coincidence that this problem appeared right after the dash was pulled and re-installed.

"i think you need to change your blinker fluid i suggest that you use full synthetic so that it last longer."
Sharp, Blinker fluid, that is rich. I havent heard that since I got out of the Navy. Ranks right up there with 50 yards of flightline, keys to aircraft (side number XXX) Those were the good old days.

Oddly enough, I had a similar problem that was intermittent. I observed that it was also affecting the radio/clock, which would also stop working when the blinkers stopped. A jiggle of the key in the ignition could bring it back, agitate it, or cut it off such that I had to turn the truck off and restart it.
At the end of the day, it was actually a bad ignition switch, which can affect both of those things. Had it changed out and problems solved.

+4 guys. Seriously, I think it could be the blinker fluid. I would have it checked just in case. If it turns out to be that, here is the stuff I would go back in with. The stocker fluid isn't real good:

It's like $8.99 a gallon.

Indy, where do you come up with this stuff? I understand talking about it but where do you get the time to find the labels? Do you have your own graphics art department? Website link is a good touch. This forum is great and occasionally we even find time to help members get their vehicles fixed. You need to send that to Jay Leno, that sounds like a good thing for his segment about crazy stuff that is available on e-bay.
