Default Bouncing idle issue

When at idle, my '02, with a 4.7L, bounces between 500 and 800 rpms. The needle just sits there bouncing with the engine surging it up to 800, letting it drop down to about 500 and then surging again. I have already (recently) replaced the TPS after reading through the forums.

Any other thoughts?

Clean the IAC however the TPS is the usual suspect on that issue. Could be a bad "new" one.

Hmmmm. Are there instructions here on that? Suppose I could search.

Thanks

Here was something I did. But this is in referance to a 5.9L but you should get it. The senors will be off somewhat.

Now onto the IAC. It is located on the back of the Throttle Body. You have 2 Torx screws that hold it in. You take off the wires at the harness, take out the screws and pull it. (it is also known as a stepper motor) Clean it really good with carborator cleaner and also pull the Throttle Body off and fully clean out all ports and everything you can get to. You will have to remove the MAP located on the front and TPS located on the drivers side. Also disconnect the cables. The TPS needs to be insalled under a very small spring load. Basiclly you install it turned to the 2 o-clock position and press against the TB then turn it to 12 o-clock and screw it down. Remember to open the throttle plate oll the way after installation by hand at the TB to ensre that you installed the TPS correctly. It will have a bind if you did it wrong. Then install a new TB gasket before installation.
