Default No Spark

Ok so here goes...
1) For a long time now the truck has idled rough when at around 1500 rpms/stalled sometimes while driving. When driving it sputters and jerks, like the transmission slips.
2)When it's cold it doesnt do this as much, but when temp drops it doesn't shift well out of first.
3) It occasionally backfires, and theres a noticeable smell from the exhaust.
4) Last time driving it did most of this and then just shut down. Now there's no spark.
So far I've replaced the Cam Sensor, Crank Sensor, ignition coil, distributor cap, plugs, plug wires and coil wire . THANKS FOR READING.
After replacing the cam sensor I'm now getting spark, BUT only when I first turn the key. Every following revolution of the cycle gives no spark. Any suggestions?

well, we will need a little bit more info before we can give you any suggestions, for starters, what engine do you have, what trans/driveline, what year is your truck, and how many miles (bc we have an idea of common issues at certain points in your trucks life)

REMEMBER

EMMY

Engine
Model
Mileage
Year

These should be a minimum. I believe Hydra recommended putting this into your signature, to avoid writing them every time. At minimum, Engine, Model and year, of course mileage will change but if you enter the other three and drive type, 4X2 or 4X4 that will provide a good starting point in troubleshooting.

Hope this helps

Steve

Default OOPs

I thought that ws already in my signiture. Sorry, it's a 1999 Durango 5.9L SLT 4X4, I have no clue to the milage (that will be another post.) The only instruments that have worked over the last 6 years is my tach, fuel, batt, and oil pressure, due to a 700 yr old Live Oak falling on the roof. The odom hasn't seen a mile in a long time. My guess would be around 130-150K miles.

Default 1999 5.9L Durango 4X4

Since I last posted I have inspected the distributor and dialed the rotor to number 1 cylinder. How do I check the ground wires to rule that out as a problem before PCM replacement?

Pull the ground on the engine block and replace the cable. Clean the contact point on the block and bolt..... Super clean the terminal and load test the battery.
