Question OEM Electric Puller Fan Wiring ?

My truck does not have the booster electronic fan. I don't think it was on the 1998 model. What I am wondering is if someone can take a picture of the harness where this thing plugs it to?

If someone could trace it back as far as they can and take a couple of pictures? Everywhere I go I can see them for install but with my fan sooooo close theres no room. I wonder if I have something different going on here?

You could get a Flex-a-lite VSC to run the fan. $100. Piece of cake. And instead of using a low power stocker, get a high power alternative fan (Mark VIII, Taraus, Viper, etc) and ditch the clutch fan. Should be fine even towing.

If you want instead, I could sell you my entire 2000 setup: shroud, fan and v-brace. You could swap out everything for that which matches the 2000-2003s. You will need to buy a new upper radiator hose (less than $50) and probably need to buy a new lower hose too. I'll toss in a second washer fluid pump to fill the hole because we have 2 pumps up front and no reservoir in the rear. You would just use the pump as a plug really. $100 shipped for everything. You would need a couple of screws here and bolts there that I had to reuse that wouldn't come with the parts but that should be no big deal.

How you trigger the stocker fan? Initially, it is important to know how the stocker on the 2000-2003s works in the first place. It only comes on at 210 degrees or anytime the AC is on. I would use a VSC for that too. Done. Simple. Beats trying to figure out the high-temp trigger (getting it to engage with the AC would be easy)

Just let me know. Re-install knowledge and phone support is free.

ill take some pics for you, but its prob not gonna be aplicable to your truck since mine is an 02

ok captions on the important pics, i am too lazy to post them here

http://picasaweb.google.com/BillHoch...eat=directlink

and the wire dissapears into the wire loom immediately after passing the fan shroud so no luck tracing that, maybe later when everything dries up i can take a voltmeter and figure it out for you, but im not doing it in the rain lol

The PCM turns on the fan with the AC or when engine temp is 210 without AC.

I really did some searching and they were not avalible for 1998-1999 models so the input won't be there for the PCM or harness.

Back to the drawing board!

Indys idea is good....... Also thought about a fixed fan pulling it back from radiator closer to the engine like this using a adapter at the right lengh:

Then installing a electric puller as backup during hot weather with a VSC or a hard wire switch so that my A/C works better and towing kicks ***.

Cant edit post but heres the instructions/diagrams, real easy to setup. Mines setup to run when ever the radiators hot (Car on or not) so when im offroading and park shes nice and cool by the time i get back from a break. Im on a year of abuse and everythings still fine. I put my switch on the fan so i can reach under the fender to adjust, you have plenty of room to put it where you wish.
