Default Strange clank noise

Whenever I'm driving slow (5mph-10mph) in a parking lot or whatever, and i let off the accelerator there is a load clank sound coming from underneath the vehicle and it jolts a little into gear. What could be the cause of this?
By the way I've got 175,000 miles on my girl.

ok well we need a little more info, year, engine, drivetrain (4x4, or 4x2) trans (if you know it) t-case (if you know it) which rear end, and is it limited slip or posi, all of these things could be related to the issue, and the more info we have to work with the more likely we will be able to give you an accurate answer, and we are likely to ask for mor infor, it is nothing personal, just trying to help

Make sure your fully out of 4X4 by backing up turning the wheels all the way right back 5 ft - back strait 5 ft - turn the wheel to the left fully and back 5 ft - back 100 ft strait.

Could be a ball joint as well.

More than likely the rear one... Fix it asap before it fails and you end up having to replace the drive shaft cause it bounced on the road and broke the joint cups (no.. no experience with that at all.. nope..)
