Default Window regulator voltage problem

I have a 2001 Durango and I seem to be having an issue replacing my passenger window motor. I have 12 volts at the connector for the window motor. At the motor itself, I only get about 8 volts and it won't work. This happens on both my new one and the old one. I don't get it. What should I do? I thought about hardwiring it, but there goes my warranty if it doesn't work, and I end up buying a new one.
Thanks, Gas.

12v at connector 8v at motor...I am wondering about cannector- dirty- corossion?
you are using same ground..for both readings? ground to cab not door let us know.

also is battery only showing 12v would expect batt voltage at motor ...check with eng running....

Thanks, it turned out to be a bad connection at the switch. Man, did I get lucky.

Are we actually replacing the motor? or are we doing a pre test to determine "if" we need to replace the motor?
