Default 98 Durango Won't Idle

My girlfriend has a '98 durango with about 118,000 miles on it. Last we she went to start it after work and it would not start. After about 15 minutes of trying it finally started. It would not idle at all and she had to keep her foot on the gas to keep it running. Took it to her stepdads shop and ran diagnostics on it and nothing is coming up in the computer. Changed the fuel filter and still nothing. I talked to my dad who has a 97 ram and he has had this happen with his truck. He says that the computer is losing memory and it needs to be reset and it needs to be driven to get the computer to reset, any thoughts? I can't get her stepdad to reset the computer becuase he thinks it is bad gas but it does not run rough at all so I am throwing that one out the window.

Thanks,

Brian

Default RE: 98 Durango Won't Idle

I had the same problem
change the IAC it's on the back of the throttle body. Picked mine up from NAPA for around $35. Two torx screws hold it in
