Default Rear passenger side wheel locks up !

This started recently and seems to be getting worse ...

After my 2001 4WD SLT sits for awhile .. I will get in it and drive down the road .. I will brake and the rear passenger wheel (one with e-brake) will lock up while slowing down ..

I can fix this by applying the emergency brake and let it "drag" not locked up for 50 feet or so .. This will work until the next time it sits ...

Does this sound like a drum resurface and new brake "shoes" will fix this ? or possibly somtihing more severe ? It brake perfectly equal when it is not wanting to lock up so I am not thinking a brake line or master cylnder problem.

Thanks

rear brake cylinder is bad or a simple adjustment on the star adjuster will probably fix it. With that said, may need new shoes and a new drum. Cheap stuff. No worries, just get it fixed.

Check the hose line up near the axle if you are back there. Tends to get old and bad too.

I took the drum off and found that part of the brake shoes broke off.. I cleaned everything up and it seems to be ok now .. I will be changing the shoes now ..

Thanks
