ok, here comes the stupid question, searched this site, couldent find it and i have no owners manual. i am changing the oil in my 98 durango, it is a 5.2 and i am not sure how many quarts it holds..anyone have the answer? thanks in advance for the help

 

Your 5.2 should take 5 quarts of oil

Service Manual says 5 quarts but my 5.9L takes 5.5 quarts and it has the same block.

 

Good starting point for owners manual is salvage yards, I got mine for about $10 bucks and included the manual and binder.

Hydra, that extra .5 qts might be after the oil cycles through the filter.

 

IDK.....the owners manual and Service Manual says only 5qt with filter, but who knows.....LOL
