Default '99 Durango water pump questions

I am replacing the water pump on my '99 Durango 5.2L 4WD. There is a pipe on the right side of the pump (as faced from the front) that is a connection for a heater hose, and is just pressed in place. When I install it in the new pump, is there some sort of sealant/adhesive or whatever that I need to use? There is a bracket on the pipe that bolts to the water pump, and maybe that is enough to hold it in place(?).

To the left of the pump (again facing it from the front), there is a 9/16" (wrench size) bolt in the block that is backed out about 1/8". I can tighten it but don't know if I should. It could be some sort of tensioner adjustment, etc.

Thanks in advance for any comments

No sealant needed. There is an O ring and thats it. Lubricate it and the water pump hole with some antifreeze before you install the tube on the new pump. After intall bolt the tube down with it's bolt and that holds it in. You could place a small amount of sealant in there without the antifreeze and wipe out the excess from the inside before install.

Yes it's for the heater. This is where the hot line is. The others the cold back to intake manifold for reheat.

There is no tensioner bolt so tighten it up.
