I see its been a while since this has been posted, but would this adjustment also work on a 2006 2500? My truck will not show P unless the truck rolls slightly ahead. I was wondering if there was an adjustment to the cable. I will look tonight anyway.

chance are not, this will only work on trucks with a cable actuated gear display, i believe dodge switched to an electronic display indicator around 2000

This only works for the older version of a manual orange indicator moving back and forth across the panel. If your is electric this will not work for you.

to Hydrashocker,

That's a very nice service manual with good pics. I have the Haynes and Chilton's printed service manuals but would love to have a service manual on CD for easy searching. What's the name of the CD service manual you have it and where can I get one?

Thanks,
Diane

Unhappy Where to find the part?

Ok, I have the same problem with my durango, my question is: Is the switch a part that is only available through the dealer? Cause I cant find it anywhere., The reverse lights don't work and I know it has to be what you described. I just cant find the part.

The "reverse" Neutral Safety Switch is on or inside your transmission and not in the dash. What we are talking aobut is just the little orange indicator in the cab in the Instrument Cluster. It is only on the 1998-1999 models.

Please start a new thread for the switch or advance search here in the Durango 1st Generation using ^^^^^ those words. https://dodgeforum.com/forum/search.php
