Default Gap in between the bumper and grill

My durango is in the body shop after a little tap in the front. I went to look at it and noticed that the bumper gap was larger than I remembered. He said it is correct. I've had this truck for 11 years and i don't remember it being that wide. What is the spec for the gap or can someone tell me what their gap is.

They didn't get the bolts tight when the placed the bumper back in place. Very common for the gap to get wider (or bigger on one side even) when the bolt slips. We see it mostly on aftermarket bumper covers such as Stillen, etc.

Simply take it back, insist that the loosen the two bolts, raise the bumper, retighten the bolts and let the bumper back down. If they get them tight and have the bumper in the right place when they tighten, all will be fine.

Make them fix it.
