Nothing like screwing up a nice truck because you don't want to buy a $7 dollar adapter! 
lol thats why i specified the common sense part of that list
but checking the voltage to ground w/ a meter shouldnt cause a fire, its if you short it to ground (i shouldnt give them bad ideas)
