Door Locks. Same problem, different approach?
First off I would like to say that I spent 1 1/2 hours searching this forum and others on this problem. There use to be more content about it but it seems to have gone away. That said
I have a 2000 Durango with the normal power door lock problem on the passenger side front and rear doors. (gear whine) I refuse to pay $60 each for the two doors for something that should be very simple. From what I have been able to find the stock actuators look to be some big, bulky conglomeration of plastic and metal. Here is my question. Can I simply bypass the stock actuator and replace it with a universal one like this one:
http://www2.partstrain.com/store/det.../RB315301.html
If I removed all the rods from the stock actuator and mounted this one somewhere could it be made to work?
