Default Fog Light Question

I'm taking out the OEM fog lights on my Durango. I took the two torx screws off each side, but the lense won't come down. Is there a special trick to get the lense out rather than forcing it out. It is wedged between the front bumper and the fog light support. Any thoughts on this is appreciated.

Default RE: Fog Light Question

I just replaced the OEM foglights on my D. I found it easier to remove the foglight as a whole (bracket and light). There are two ten mm bolts holding the bracket in place, remove these and the foglight will come down. You might be abel to reuse the OEM brackets with some mods to them,me I had to make a set of brackets but the end result was that the new foglights look great and are much brighter then the old ones. Good Luck

GhostRider,

Thanks for the response. I took the screws out with the lense and mounting bracket attached, but it would not fall down. Do you have to force the assembly out behind the bumper? The lense is caught on the lip of the cutout. I tried to twist and turn it without luck. The fog light support is molded to the bumper. Any ideas on how to solve this problem?

When I took the screws out ,that were holding the bracket, the bracket dropped down about an inch or two and all I had to do from there was pull the bracket back towards the engine compartment and then down. Look at the pic and see if the we are talking about the same two bolts that need to be removed in order for the bracket to be removed. These two bolts are located on the metal frame of the bumper, the back bolt can be a pain to get out. Hope this helps you out.

When you are looking at the pic the bolt hole to the left would be the back one.

I don't want to butt in but I believe that some years the fog lights are mounted to the frame and others they where mounted to the plastic bumper. I put in replacement PILOT fog lights with the custum bracket for my 01 Dakota and I had to cut the plastic bracket off to put in the aftermarket lights. Hope that helps!

You made a good point roadrunner I did forget to ask what year of Durango he was trying to take the foglights out of. Thanks for the reminder.
