1560$ for a ECU in Sweden
Hello over there. I have a little problem with my Dodge Durango -99. 5.9 SLT 4WD. One day it started to go really bad. It seemed to get too much gasoline. Engine light came on after a while. I managed to take me to a Dodge dealer. Error code was injector 3 and 7. They have measured up the cabling and injectors, and nothing was wrong. They say it's the ECU and want to have 1560$ for a new. Could it be something else before I start looking for a new ECU? It looks like it is possible to find cheaper ECU on Ebay. And if the ECU is broken, what can be done so it does not happen again with a new ECU. It is not cheap to own a Dodge in Sweden. Only gasoline costs 6.80 gallons. Hope someone can help me.
I would definitely check out ebay for a new ECU or go to http://www.bgperformancepcm.com/ they will be able to get you up and running if they do international business. While you are getting a new PCM from them you may want to get a performance flash as well.
There is a flash that the dealer can do to your ECU that address 3 and 7 injector. It is a TSB so they can look it up for you.
You can get a replacement ECU (PCM) that is already pre-flashed on Ebay for about $200 that is plug-and-play ready if you chose to go down that road. They are buisnesses so they should ship overseas. All you have to do is call them with your information on your truck so you have to have mileage, VIN#, and year, Motor you know all that.
B&G is a performance flashed ECU (PCM) that are more expensive but worth the cash.

Thank you so much for the tips. I have e-mail B & G on the price of a flashed ECU / PCM. It would not hurt if you got down on fuel consumption. Merry Christmas from the Arctic Circle in Sweden.
