Default catalytic converter.

does the 2001 durango have 1 catalytic converter? which is on the mid pipe before the muffler. or are there also ones right after the headers? i see these lumps in the piping after the headers with a sort of heat shield looking thing over them. or is it fatter just cause the headers are connecting to the down pipe? and an unrelated topic. is it bad if you have different shocks in the front then you have in the rear? will the ride be all odd feeling? i am looking for aftermarket shocks but i can only find a series either only for the rear or only for the front. why is that? i would like 4 of the same type . any help?

The second generation has two. One right after each manifold before the Y-pipe. I would assume it is the same on the first generation,

Have you tried Bilstein shocks?

You should have 2 CAT's. One on each side down pipe before the Y on the 4.7L. You also should have 1 02 sensor before the cat's and after the cat's on each side. Are all 4.7L that way, I don't know but I'm sure they are.

Not yet, willi. Just 50+mph winds. NJ has been hit with snow. I'm ready for it! 4X4 on the D!
