Default 99 Durango SLT 5.2L - Oil Dipstick issue.

I just picked up a 99 Durango SLT with the 5.2L and I have two questions regarding the oil dipstick.

First, the previous owner snapped the oil dipstick so I need to obtain a new one. Did the different models of the Durango/Dakota/Ram that used the 5.2 all use the same oil tube and dip stick?

Second, I assume that it's possible that the broken part of the dip stick is still in the tube (although I can't see it). How is the tube attached to the blockand would it be easier to remove the tube or the pan to remove the stick (if need be)? Is it threaded or mounted with a nut?

Thanks.

1. 5.2L and 5.9L are the same in 1998 and 1999. Not sure on the 2000-2003.

2. It would be easier to pull the dip stick tube out of the motor and get it.

Other than the bolt on the alternator bracket, how is the tube mounted at the base?

I think it's a twist and pull.
