Code 720 driveshaft speed sensor?
Hello:
I am new to the forum. I have a '99 Durango with 80K on the clock. I got a "check engine" light this week and took it to my indepedent repair shop; great guy, knowledgeable, reasonably priced, etc.
He told me he got a Code 720; I looked it up and I got the "driveshaft speed is different that the speedo shows" reason. My mechanic was unable to locate the driveshaft sensor ref'd above. Where is it and is this something I/he can do without having to go the dealer or a specialty transmission shop? Any/all help welcomed and appreciated. Thanks

I think there are two possible sensors. One of the sensors is located at the end of the transmission where the drive shaft connects to. This may be the sensor you are looking for. Another sensor is located somewhere around the rear axle.
hi! did you find it? if so, any chance you can help me find it using "girl instructions"? kensai's original response left me a bit clueless! pictures or illustrations would be AMAZING!!!!

The drive shaft sensor is in the center section of ther ear end should be the only thing on the rear end with wiresbut not all have two sensors i know my 2000 slt 360 only has one on the driver side in the adapter that fits between the transmission and the rear part transfercase when you remove it tranny fluid will run out so have you other one ready to slap in
