I'm new to this forum. but I had to replace the heater core in my ram. It took about 11 hours. but then again I wasn't trying to set any records, took my time. And I had never replaced one before. It was a tuff process.

Do you still need to pull the evaporator? or is there a way not to pull it. I know it's better to pull it, just do you HAVE to pull it?

Thats the toughy... That's where everyone else differs from me, i removed my ac. Honestly if you could gain access to all screws to remove the H-core then you wouldnt even need to remove the box from the firewall. But i think you have to discharge the ac no matter what due to the lid bolts.. Hyd, when you plan on doing this? hopefully in a garage. If next week i can give you a one on one walk through.

Won't be doing it tell it warms up. To damn cold up here right now.

I can rebuild just about anything but I'm not looking forward to the core. I just hate dash work and looking into even a bone yard with the dash removed I can't figure out where all the screws/bolts are. Looks like a large mesh of **** under there and with all the hoses/electrical.......Just not wanting to do it.

Now your way of pulling it to the passenger side without disconnecting much seems like the way to go. I really wish I could just make a cut out in the engine bay. Also, did you vac the A/C or what did you do on that end?

i think i got pictures of all the bolt locations. so as soon as get them posted you will have some reference as to where all the bolts are. not as many electrical connectors as it seems there should be, and only a few that where a little tough to get at. hopefully i can get them posted tomorrow.
