Default help on muffler

was wondering how you guys would think the 5.9 would sound with this x pipe muffler... is this a x pipe too look likea muffler, because im looking for x pipe for my truck and if i can do it this way then buying a seprate x pipe then 2 mufflers, that would save me some money and maybe make my truck a lil louder not having 2 mufflers on and just have the x pipe and 2 cats with my longtube headers

Na. I would skip them. For the same money OR LESS you can get a tested, tried and true professional brand muffler for the Durango from Flowmaster, MagnaFlow or Borla.

Probably not worth it really. X pipe with no mufflers is gonna be very loud.

So let me get this strait. You want to pass emissions but not Safety or is the muffler/X pipe suppost to "fool" the inspector/tech????? The other problem I see is it will be TOO loud to pass safety and the cops will get you anyway. I think Indy is talking about a solution to your issue.

Flowmaster makes a 50 series dual in/dual out muffler that might help.

Your talking about your P/u right?
Stick with a 3" or larger, go to mag cat's, to Flowmaster 40's, all 3 ". Mufflers only run $80 or so, same for the cats.. You'll be loud, and it will sound better than a catless system..
Put magnaflow spun metalic cats in, they run in 3" diam etc, and meet the required specs. They are tiny and only take up a 9" of pipe and have a 5" diameter...
Unless your in california, then sorry to say the ****'s will not take anything except two cat's they identified A) universal $590. cat or b) custom fit $1245. THATS BS
