Just getting started
,Howdy yall!
Well whilst my truck is having some tranny gremlins ironed out i'm deciding what I wanna do next.
Got a 2001 Durango R/T 5.9 AWD/4WD.
My old car was a 1986 TA that I decked out (Had it going 193 MPH across alligator ally!) But 23 tickets and 8 court cases later I sold it. So now Im moving into truck world.
Im thinking new CAI.
As far as exhaust its already got a cat back exhaust however it has stock headers. Any particular headers yall have seen good results on?
I was thinking with removing the cat (Im in Fl no emissions law) and making it 3" straight back exhaust. Or would 2.75" work better for this truck?
Then i'm deciding on what to do to the computer. Anyone have a dyno comparison or subjective experience between the 52000-Hypertech or the 3865 Superchips Flashpack or are the Jet Control Modules like the 90002S better to just throw in there?
Gonna throw on some 8.5mm MSD cables. I wonder if the new E3 plugs are any good?? If they're crap ill go with Champion Iridiums probably? Whats the gap set on them? .43 or something like that?
Probably get an Electric cooling fan to replace the belt driven one. Get a lil less drag on the Serp belt.
Throw in a 180 degree thermostat.
Are throttle body spacers even worth it on this truck?
Anyway any other basic things i'm missing here?
One thing I may do first cause stock headlights really bother me is get a set of HID Headlights. Does anyone have any that they would recommend. There are tons on the web. Ill go with probably the 8k brightness type. Aftermaket HIDs are allowed in FL just no blue or red colors unless ya want some blue and red colors behind ya.

throttle body spacers = expensive paperweights, dont waste your money
E3 plugs forget about it you are best off with the cheapo copper core champion, or the champion truck plugs,
the chips are useless, get a tuner, they all seem to be pretty similar,
8.5mm MSD wires are a good idea, also get a cap and rotor with brass contacts
180 deg t-stat is popular and some claim it adds some performance improvements
electric cooling fan is expensive, but definetly helps with both power and mpgs and be careful in some areas i think HID lights are illegal as aftermarket lights, and if you do them make sure they are aimed correctly

Also do a Ram Air CIA home brew setup and tune your TPS.

That link was broken. But i'm assuming you mean the ducting through the rubber insulating pad in front of the car?
Also tuning the tps? Do you mean a hard reset of the truck? Neg terminal off drain residual power hook it back up turn truck back on rinse/repeat?

there is a sticky at the top of the page you can visit to get the information (he tried linking it but it didnt work) and no you drill out the mounting holes on the tps and you can adjust it so that it is giving optimal readouts, and THEN you reset the electrical system like you suggested
