Default 2000 Durango 46RE Tranny

My Transmission has a small leak so I am going to be replacing the gasket and filter and Solenoid Pack in the next couple of weeks. I would like to adjust the bands while I am in there, my question is about buying a torque wrench to do this. The one I am looking at is made by CDI Part number CD 751LDIN. Would this one be alright or would someone suggest one that would work. Also in the instructions it says to torque to 72 inch pounds and then back off two turns. How would you back it off 2 turns, or would you forget about adjusting the bands since I have never did this before. The durango has 114000 miles on it and nothing has been done to the transmission. Thanks for any input.

well find us a link to the product you want, and if it comes from harbor freight forget about it their tools are made in china CRAP unless you needs a blunt instrument for a one-time use . . . http://www1.mscdirect.com/CGI/NNSRIT...MT4NO=76914406

that one has a decent range, and is not too badly priced, although it IS one of the cheaper wrenches that they offer

i honestly have not heard of that brand, but i would get the one i linked to, and make sure that it is a new wrench as they do need to be calibrated regularlyin order to maintain accuracy

Anyone else have a opinion on a good torque wrench to use to adjust the transmission bands.

You can always rent one from an Auto Parts store.
