Default Putting a custom subwoofer box in 98 Durango

I posted this in another car forum and big surprise a bunch of idiots on that site so I figured I'd go here since it's all Durango owners.

Anyways I had this system in my car before and I want to move it into my new truck but I'm not sure how to do it in a way that doesn't make it obvious that I have a system in my truck.

To clarify it's 1 subwoofer box (wide box) 2 amplifiers, and a capacitor. I went to an installation place and they tried to get me to do a downfiring box that would be matched to the color of the carpet but I don't wanna spend that kind of money.

Is it possible to install one of those pull-over blanket thigns in the back of my truck if I didn't have it already before? I can post pictures of the system if it would make it easier for people to see waht I'm talking about sorry if this is unclear at all.

TM985,

Here is a link to all kinds of subwoofers in the Durango. The only "hidden" ones are built into the cubby however.

HTH,

if you have and dont need the third row seats, you can pull them and im certain you could build a nice custom enclosure in that space, probably fit 2 subs in there too, and the amps, if you know what your doing, i have some basic ideas for a box in that space in my head if you would like ill try and get them on paper to share

Thanks I bought all the parts online and had the box made for me I paid a lot but it's been worth it, had the system 3+ years now no problems (knock on wood).

I was leaning towards keeping the box i currently have, It's in good shape and unless I really have to I didn't want to get a new box. I haven't made one myself, and the one I already have was professionally made and very nice.

Only problem is that it's not made for this vehicle. I'm open to anything at this point, it's only January I just want to have it in by the warm weather come April/May

Nice but doesn't that get really hot in there? I had suggested that over at the installation place and the guy said it might be doable but when the hot weather combines with the heat those things create it could cause problems in an enclosed space.

Some nice stuff in there. Quite otu of my price range though.

I'm leaning towards keeping the box I have and trying to install one of those pulley things that cover the hatchback area, to keep it out of view for when it's parked somewhere damn thieves
