Default 2000 dodge durango trasmission failure

I was drivin down the highway 70 mph in a 2000 durango 5.9L with the cruise set and it shifted out of overdrive then 2 miles up the road it shifted out of 3rd then another mile into 2nd then into first. so i drove two miles into town in first gear. the fluid level is fine. and the transmission sqeals when it shifts into first. now i am lucky if i get into a gear??

you could try changing the fluid and filters and adjusting the band, while its apart take a look at the check valve, its prone to clogging, but it sounds to me like something more major is gone, master tech is the resident transmission specialist so ill let him elaborate more

shouldnot need to be done again, but have the check valve in the trans cooler line replaced (or just take it out and splice the hose together, im pretty sure people have had good luck doing that) but check to see if the fluid looks/smells burnt if so then change it again
