well i am new here, and new to durango's right now i have a code of p1899 the park neutral switch but i replaced it and the code still comes up. i am wondering if there is anybody else in here who has had the problem and what they did to remedy/fix the problem as i need to get the truck smogged and it wont pass till the check engine light shuts off. any ways my name is travis and i wanted to introduce myself to everyone on here.

Welcome, Travis. Did you replace the PN switch yourself? If so, you need to disconnect the battery at they neg terminal and isolate it so it doesn't any parts. Then turn your key to the "On" position for 15 seconds. That will bleed out any current in the electrical system. Or you can step on the brake for 15-20 seconds, that does the same thing. Then just connect the neg back and you should have cleared the code. HTH.

yup +1 what dan said clear the code by disconnecting the batter (you can also hold the key to start for 30 seconds or so)
