Default 00 Durango not starting

I have a 2000 R/T 5.9. I went out last night to go to work and it wouldnt start. It would turn over and sound like it would start but would sound like it was out of gas and die. And yes it has gogo juice. I could smell the gas, like it flooded out, so I know its getting gas. I didnt have any trouble with it the day before. I mean started and drove normaly. It also would crank over and after a few seconds all the lights would blink off for a brief second and come back on and start craning again. Im at a loss. I havent checked anything yet but I need a cup of joe and its my first thing to do. Any help would be greatful.

i would start by checking to see if you have spark, take one of the plugs out, put it in the wire and hole it against the block while someone cranks the engine, if you dont have any spark then i would look at replacing the coil

could also be the cam or crankshaft sensor that is going

"all the lights would blink off for a brief second and come back on and start craning again"
I say look into your battery
Check your battery connections as for the temporary outage, recommend trying a well known battery.
