Rear Gate door stuck

I have a 2000 Durango. Some days the rear gate door won't open some days it will I have no idea why. Has anyone had this problem?

on a day that it opens fine, try lubricating the latching mechanism, it could just be sticking

my other idea would be temperature dependent, is it only sticking when it is really cold outside???

Next time you can get it open, take off the plastics and it is probably corroded up whereas that is a common problem.

Clean, lubricate, replace, done.
