Default transmission issue.

my 98 5.2 4x4 shifts into second then straigt into third gear then it jumps back and forth between the two when i accellerate normally. i have noticed that it only happens at certain places in the throttle. if i push it softer it doesn't do it and if i push it harder it doesn't do it. it also will not shift out of first gear if i go wide open throttle. i just changed the fluid and filter at the begining of january. fluid level is correct. any help would be much appreciated.

did you adjust the bands? you will need to drop the tranny-pan in order to do this and also check to tv (kickdown) cable from the throttle body to the transmission

I had this issue last summer. The trans needed rebuilt when band adjustment didn't work. I was thankful mine was still under warranty.

i know it came up not too long ago in a thread, but im not sure which one, if you do a search it should come up, but your best bet is a chilton or haynes manual the specs should be in one of those (or maybe someone on here can just post up the procedure for you w/ the specs)
