I have a 2000 v8 SLT and the power steering pump is dying. when i went to order a new one it is asking whether is it a 17mm or 18mm diameter shaft. I have no idea where to locate this information. Does anyone know??
I bet your problem is in idle there is no power steering, but when you give it gas things are good. Am I right? I have the same problem. And you asked the exact question I was wondering about. Thank You.
I have the same situation....but what if you live in Europe and there is no Dodge Dealer to call? I'm sure there is another way to find out what you are looking for...maybe some kind of flowchart? I've been looking for a couple of days (short of calling a stateside dealer by phone) now and can't find anything ....either here or on the net. [2000 Durango 4x4 4.7L V8]

if the shaft is on the outside of the pump, you could try measuring it, but 1mm is not a whole lot of difference, if you have an extra car to drive and can afford downtime, take the bad one out and measure the shaft
