It run's, It run's
OK, Shrpshtr325 wins the prize
Removed the IAC and tried to clean it. It fell apart in my hands. Replaced it with a new one and the car ran. This was a very good feeling. Next I think I will remove throttle body and clean it better.
Thanks guys this was my first time using this site, but it won't be my last!!
Thanks
Kevin

This sounds similar to my problem. Car had it's battery replaced last year because it would start but then immediately stall unless you held your foot down on the gas pedal.
Once it warmed up enough, you could let your foot off the gas and it would stay running.
Does this sound like the IAC went bad? I probably could fix this myself if I knew this was the problem. How much does a new IAC go for?
Car is a 99 Durango with 5.9 Magnum 4x4.

I believe your PCM was adjusting to the new battery and after it learned the parameters of the new battery, your D started to run smoothly. Did your D ever encounter this problem before? Has it happened after you replaced the battery? It never hurts to clean out anything that helps your engine breathe. Just make sure there are no loos debris around the IAC and TB when you take them off. IIRC, an IAC from the dealer ran for $90 and one from AZ went for $60. HTH.
