Question 1st gen pre-upgrade ?s

Have a 2002, SLT+, 5.9L, 2WD.

Seems the first gen Durangos have 6x114.3 and 0 offset for the wheels? Are there any brake kits upgrades for the Durangos (brembo, wilwood, baer, etc.)?

Does anyone have the stock torque limits of the tranny and AWD transfer case?

Anyone happen to have the part number for the mode door motor (changes the a/c between vents and defrost)? Do you have to have the entire blower box, or can you just order a replacement motor?

I'll come back to this thread with additional ?s
TIA

Sounds like a nice ride!

There are a few setups, however drilled rotors and Ceramic pads are a great alternative.

You don't have a transfer case on a 2wd.

There called Actuators. Here is the info you need accept the part numbers: https://dodgeforum.com/forum/1st-gen...w-problem.html

Thank you. I've been very happy with it for the last 5 1/2 years . By far the best vehicle I've owned.

Not yet I don't. Planning to turn this one into an AWD turbo-ed asphalt eater. Will have airbags (as apposed to shocks), new axles, transfer case, etc.

Need to know if the factory R/T or Ram 4x4 transfer cases can handle 500-600+ lbft of torque. Would bet money it cannot, but need to know where I'm starting to see if it'll be better to go modified factory or completely aftermarket. Have a 4x4 tranny already, just need to send it to my tranny guy for some upgrades.

But also need some better stopping over factory. Probably going to change to a 5 on 4.5" pattern with 4 wheel disc ('02 has drums in the rear, and '03 got the rear disc), especially since I have very limited options for the 6 on 114mm (brakes and wheels ). Might keep the stock rear axle housing and just upgrade the axles themselves, but not sure what options I have nor if the stocker can handle the power I'm planning.

There is a little larger disk brake setup including rear disk in the 2003's. For more info contact Sharps.
