Default 2000 dodge durango died on highway

i have a 2000 dodge durango 4.7L with 220kms on it. i was driving on the highway doing about 100km/h and the car just died the rpms dropped off to 0 and the cel came on i checked with a code reader i have error code p0340. when i try to start it now it turns over but will not start. i just replaced the camshaft position sensor with one from the dealer. the car still will not start just turns over. any help would be greatly appreciated.
also on this year can you check codes without a code reader using the odometer display?

P0340 No Cam Signal At PCM

Considering you replaced the CPS reset the PCM first.

Yes, the 2000 year has on board OBD-II reader in it's PCM. Here are the instructions so look at the top of the first post and it even tells you how to reset the PCM. https://dodgeforum.com/forum/1st-gen...ine-light.html

If that doesn't do it you could have broken a timing chain! Make sure the valves are opening and closing.

THey are located on the front of each head. You might need to take off a valve cover or pull out the PCV valve and the breather out of the other side and look in. Also if you do a compression check it will show up as dead cylinders.
