As for adjustments, YES you want to adjust a 42RE, 44RE, and 46RE transmissions when you drop the pan and replace the filter and fluid (ATF+4 ONLY).

The 45RFE (or even the 545RFE) transmissions located behind the 4.7L motor has NO band adjusters so they are only a fluid (ATF+4 ONLY) and 2 filter design.

Never flush a Chrysler transmission!

i dont see how a mild shift kit will hurt? it should help. like i said i am looking at the firm shift, not the snappy shift.

The 42RE, 44RE, and 46RE transmissions are hydraulic so the only way a firm shift is going to happen is a shift kit or remove Torque Management.
