I recently bought this cell phone mount that installs into the cigarette light-of course it didn't come with directions so I had to figure it out on my own. Long story short there is a part at the end that unscrews and I tried putting it in there to see if it stays and it got STUCK in there

I tried getting it out with random things I had in my tool kit then tried again with some pliers and this thing is stuck in there. I'm praying someone on here can help me figure this out so I don't rip out the whole lighter part in the dash :banghead:


If you look at it, right under where it says grip, that piece right there got stuck in the lighter.... The rest of it came entirely out but that part stayed in there. FML

 

is the part that got stuck important to the functioning of the cell phone mount? if its just a dust cover(what it looks like to me), cut it out, just cut through it all the way back at two different points and pull it out in two pieces

 

Did you try screwing in the assembly and then gently pulling out the whole thing? Looks like it's made of rubber-like material to help the holder stay in place. Like a compression fitting.
