Default It is a sad, sad day at my house...

Well I hate to say this, but it is time for me to sell the D. I just can't afford the gas anymore, seeing how I can only work two days a week (due to school). I love this vehicle so much, but it has to be done. But I need some help decing how much to list it for. It is a 2000 Dodge Durango SLT. It has the 5.9 V8 with 123xxx miles. It has the third row with leather seats all around.

As far as custom items go, I have replaced the stock HU with an Alpine ida x305 ($350) that has the seamless iPod hook up. I have also replaced the stock factory speakers with some Infinities. I have also bypassed to stock amp. Also, the truck has a grill guard and a ebay CAI.

But with all that said, my main selling point would be the transmission. I had it rebuilt about 5000 miles ago, and when it was rebuilt I paid a little extra and got a lifetime warranty on the transmission.

The negatives would be a a rust spot on the upper portion of the front bumper (common among Ds). The right rear fender trim is also damaged due to some jack*** backing out of a parking spot with his door open and taking off before I could stop him. Also, the driver's sear has a spot missing on the side from entering and exiting.

KBB has a car with all of these fetures listed at $7300 in excellent condition. I would NOT say it is in excellent condition, but it does have some extras and a rebuilt tranny. So is 6000-6500 too much to ask?

THANKS FOR ALL OF YOUR HELP!!! =)

it's a good asking price but a better selling price is probably going to be closer to five. Kbb excellent; to meet this level the car has to look & drive just as though new.

In the selling car game stereos are like decks on houses, may interest a specific buyer but has little effect on what the home is worth. maint money is ust that & cannot expect to recover.

So list it @ 6500 & be prepared to let them talk you down as much as a grand. biggest crapper is the real value of these went down as gas prices went up. the market here is glutted with big suv's.

Yeah that was my thinking... I think the tranny will really help though. Because the only negative (apart from the MPGs) that I heard when originally buying the truck was the tranny. It really is a great truck. I just wish I could afford the gas... I'll keep the truck if someone would be so kind as to donate to the "Andy is a broke college student and really wants to keep his truck but can't afford the gas" fund?
